Every year the new season seems to come around quicker and quicker! No sooner does the last game of the season finish then we are back here for the first home game of the new season.
Last season was rounded off with the Presentation Evening at the Kettering Conference Centre where Rene Howe scooped a few awards including the Trust’s Player of the Year Award. Congratulations to all the winners on the night.
The Trust has had quite a busy close season including making two donations to the Club totalling £2750 which will go towards the continuing pitch improvements. The £750 was the membership fees raised from the 2016-17 membership year. The £2000 was ringfenced as a donation last year to be given to the Club upon the signing of the lease at Latimer Park. The lease still has not been signed but the Club has a tenancy agreement in place which has satisfied the Southern League and the FA so we felt it was the right time to donate the money. The £750 donation entitled the Trust to be entered in the Club’s pitch squares draw. We won two hospitality tickets for tonight’s game. We had a members’ draw which was won by Stephen Gordon. He and his wife Sue are at tonight’s game enjoying the hospitality of the Club.
We also lobbied the local Kettering candidates standing in the general election earlier in the Summer regarding their thoughts on the Poppies coming back to Kettering – more of that in the next home programme.
It's that time of the year again when we ask you to consider renewing your Trust membership. Our membership has been fairly constant over the last few seasons with c100 members which is a very positive figure given our average home gates. You can join via PayPal using @email@example.com or by cheque sent to our PO Box address or at the Trust table inside the Clubhouse or inside the turnstiles at most home games.
This year is also a landmark for the Trust as it celebrates 25 years since its formation in 1992 - a lot of water has gone under the bridge in that time, mainly positive! And we could not have survived without the support of our members. As you can see we have a new logo celebrating this landmark. The logo was designed free of charge by Simon Cox of Simon Cox Marketing Solutions (www.greatmarketingideas.co.uk). Thanks to Simon for his generosity.
We will also be rebranding the 300 Club for this season so as not to impede on the Club's 12th man scheme - look out for details later in the year.
Once again, thanks to Paul Cooke for putting aside a page in the home match day programmes for the Trust – we appreciate it.
Good luck to the lads tonight in this first home encounter of the new season.
