It is always good to get off to a winning start and we did just that last Saturday in our first league match of this new season away to Hinckley. The starting line-up was somewhat different to the one we would have expected with Aaron O’Connor out injured, Marcus Kelly waiting for his international clearance to come through and Craig Westcarr leaving us so soon after his return to go to Boston. These notes were written before the Kings Lynn match in midweek but hopefully we added to last Saturday’s victory.
The new membership year is a couple of weeks old. Membership renewal forms have gone out to current members but, of course, anyone can join us. The joining fee is £12 for adults and U16s can join for free. There is a lifetime membership of £100. You should be able to download the membership form from our website and we will be doing a handout at a home game in the near future.
We carried out the members draw (from the list of members for 2017/18) recently for prize of two spaces in the sponsors lounge at a forthcoming home game. This was won by Michael Allen – congratulations Michael who will be royally entertained at the home game on August Bank Holiday Monday.
The Trust is working on setting up a semi-permanent base inside the ground during this season. This will enable fans to drop off membership forms, buy 300 club tickets and just generally catch up with Trust Board members. Hopefully we will be up and running with the base in the next few weeks.
Our AGM and Race Night will take place on Friday 5 October 2018. Full details will be confirmed over the coming weeks when sponsorship, horses, jockeys etc will be on sale. The race night, as usual, will be a joint one with the Dylan Cecil Memorial Fund. The AGM will start at 1900 followed by the first race of the night at 2000.
Let’s see what today’s game has to offer – preferably three points!
