As most of you will be aware, former Poppies Player, and Assistant Manager, Ernie Moss passed away recently, after a long struggle with dementia.
Ernie was signed by Peter Morris for the Poppies in 1988 - and became a firm favourite amongst the fans, forming a fomidable partnership with Robbie Cooke. He featured in some memorable matches including at Charlton in 1988/89 FA Cup, when he came within a whisker of equalising for the Poppies. After 99 1st class appearances and 28 goals, Ernie left the club - but later returned as Assistant Manager to Peter Morris during his 2nd spell with the club.
Ernie's family are raising money for the Alzheimer's Society in his memory, by taking part in the Memory Walk later this year - and the Trust have made a £200 donation.
